Open Letter to Palm
August 22nd, 2007

The folks at Engadget have a lengthy article on what they perceive to be Palm's problems these days. Hardware, software, business… they pull no punches here. The article does have a few common-sense suggestions for a next-gen Treo. The writers want a sexier, thinner device, with a larger display, WiFi, more storage and a better OS. But don't mess with the keyboard! Nothing really new here, but a decent summary of what many Palm users have long clammored for.
As for the Foleo, Engadget basically tells Palm that it's not going to be a succesful product, and even it if is mildly successfull, it's not worth the time and effort for such a niche market. For the sake of those in that "niche" market, let's hope that Palm ignores this particular piece of advice.

So much wishful thinking there. Less bulky, but with a bigger LCD and more features, but keep the keyboard? At some point, you run into the laws of physics and such.

Their words were “stop wasting money on the Foleo.” Does that mean, don’t sell it? Wouldn’t that be even more of a waste of money?

You’re right. They need to bring this thing to market.
